This Matcha bowl represents the spring scenery in Japan. Cherry blossoms are in bloom, the petals are dancing in the wind, and floating down the river. The flowers draw attention not only from us, but also from a bird, the Japanese white-eye.

NINSEI refers to Ninsei Nonomura, one of the masters who helped to develop Kyo Yaki style in the early 17th century. His masterpieces are characterized by splendid and delicate painting, efficiently using golden color, on its graceful and subtle white surface. Therefore, the graceful and subtle white color bowls are called NINSEI-KIJI in Kyo-Yaki works.

You can see KANNYU, a type of glaze and technique which gives the appearance of a cracked surface. It is one of the features of NINSEI-KIJI. The KANNYU pattern faintly appears over the whole surface of this bowl, which deepens the warm atmosphere. The colors settle into the tiny cracks, creating gentle shifts in tone and texture in each pattern.

HANA means flower and RYUSUI means running water. Through the lens of the golden flower, the cherry blossoms appear in stunning close up, even revealing a small bird playfully darting among the petals. The blossoms are in full bloom, glowing with bright pink hues that invite us to feel the gentle breeze of spring. Behind them, the river shimmers in shades of blue and gold, creating a sense of movement that draws the eye along its flowing path. The gentle interplay of light and shadow gives the scene a dreamlike quality, as if time itself has slowed to admire the view. Together, the blossoms and the river embody the harmony of nature, delicate yet endlessly alive.

The peaceful scenery of cherry blossoms and the Japanese white-eye bird are whimsically portrayed on this Matcha bowl. The more time you spend with this bowl, the more you will be drawn in by its beauty. Enjoy the taste of Matcha, adorned by delicate and charming cherry blossoms.
