It is served with SAKURA syrup specially crafted by a long-established vinegar brewery in Kyoto. This unique harmony of flavors is something you are unlikely to find anywhere outside Japan.
As you take a bite, the warm, toasty aroma of Houjicha - enclosed within the mochi - rises to meet your senses. WARABI MOCHI’s signature texture, delicately soft and pleasantly chewy, holds the rich fragrance until it releases with each bite. When chilled, the MOCHI becomes even more chewy, creating an addictive mouthfeel.
In spring, salt-pickled SAKURA blossoms often decorate traditional Japanese confections. This WARABI MOCHI is paired with a SAKURA syrup made by slowly extracting the natural flavor and color from domestic YAE SAKURA. Its floral aroma and subtle saltiness beautifully complement the deep, roasted notes of Houjicha.
After trying the WARABI MOCHI with SAKURA syrup, you can add KINAKO powder. KINAKO offers a gentle sweetness with hints of toasted grain. Its fine, airy texture melts on the tongue and becomes even more aromatic when combined with SAKURA syrup.
