Texture is smooth and semi-firm, but from the four choices of flavors the ume (pink) flavored one seems to have a softer texture compared to the rest, while also the only one that has a tangy/sour note to the flavor. Each of the four yokans has a distinct flavor difference, with sweetness that is not overwhelming but best to be consumed as an accompaniment to tea instead of having them on their own. My pick for the best flavors are the brown sugar and yuzu. I wish these yokans available with an option of a single choice of flavor instead of getting all four in a single box.  |
