| Review | I was interested in tea a couple months back, so obviously I'm very new to the industry and the culture involved. I read a few articles on health benefits and culture behind it. Previously I was ordering matcha lattes from Starbucks, which was already tasty. So I thought, "well if a global chain can easily make this delicious, I wonder how amazing the actual experts, who have devoted their lives to cultivate the best, purest, and most traditional form of this product, can perform? In short I was not dissapointed; Although I am extremely new to this art, (not sure of the important nuances you find when comparing different grades of tea and authenticity), I can say that this tea was a welcoming "step up" from how Starbucks or that of any other chain could perform. I noticed that the house matcha was slightly bitter at first taste with earthy almost vegetable-esque tones; however, soon developed a smooth sweet taste and texture. I was very pleased with this matcha. Note I have only tried it cold brewed, can't wait to try this brewed traditionally. Thank you! |
