As someone who drinks green tea every single day, I have tried my fair share of senchas, but the Shincha AOTE is in a league of its own. The standout feature of this tea is the absolute freshness. The second you open the bag, the aroma fills the room like a crisp, spring morning. It brews into a stunning, vibrant green liquor that looks and tastes completely alive. It has a bright, clean, mineral-like energy that instantly wakes up your palate. What makes AOTE truly special, though, is its incredibly mellow flavor. A lot of first-harvest shinchas can be sharp, brisk, or a bit too astringent for casual sipping. AOTE goes the opposite direction—it is wonderfully smooth, soft, and sweet. It has a rich, buttery umami undertone that completely rounds out the cup, leaving zero harsh bitterness.
