| Review | This is truly a wonderful tea! It really does capture in its effect on the tongue and in its aroma the spirit of spring. Unlike other shincha teas I have had this "traditional" style has a lovely astringent-umami effect. That is, the delicate astringency tickles the sides, tip and back of the tongue simultaneously providing, along with the "green", grassy, vegetal, umami flavor, the "taste of spring". This is a tea to be savored and a second pot in my opinion would just wear out the senses do to the perfectly balanced intensity of this tea. I brewed for one person in a 150ml gaiwan pouring through a fine mesh strainer. |
