Apart from matcha, this is my current favorite tea, possibly my all-time favorite. The aroma and taste are so perfectly balanced--it's everything I want out of a Japanese green tea. It has subtle complexity and all the merits of Gyokuro with a mellower sweetness if you brew it just right. For me, that means brewing the tea/water quantities listed on the package at 140 F for 90 seconds in a kyusu. I love all the extra L-theanine from the stems--it keeps me calm, whereas some other teas hop me up on caffeine a little too much. I will be keeping this permanently on hand! |
