FUKU means good fortune and OHGI means Japanese folding fan. Auspicious motifs of TSURU KANE crane and tortoise, UCHIDE no KOZUCHI gavel, and SHOH CHIKU BAI pine, bamboo, and plum are elegantly and delicately painted on OHGI Japanese folding fans, which is another traditional auspicious motif. The elegant but not too ostentatious golden brushstrokes require a very high level of skill. These elements are well harmonized and make this bowl quite excellent.

TSURU KANE crane and tortoise and UCHIDE no KOZUCHI gavel are elegantly and delicately painted on OHGI Japanese folding fans. And SHOH CHIKU BAI pine, bamboo, and plum are painted on and outside of the OHGI. Outlines of each motif and the stamens and pistils of the Ume plum flowers are painted in gold. The delicate and detailed painting requires high-level techniques and efforts.

One focal point is not only elegantly painted but also brings a sense of energy and excitement. The wing of the TSURU crane and the tail of the KANE tortoise project from the OHGI folding fans. Two OHGI folding fans are interrupted midway by waves, some of which appear as though they are dynamically moving. Ume plume petals seem to be gently waving on the water. These effects create a sophisticated, elegant, and dynamic atmosphere.

Some pastel colors like deep and thin purple (on KANE tortoise), aqua, yellow (OHGI folding fan) and so on are used. The dynamism and pastel colors are rarely seen in usual traditional composition paintings. This exquisite style of painting and color palette impresses viewers with its elegant and sophisticated atmosphere.

The technique called GOHONDE, colorful lines of orange, is seen on the inside and outside of this bowl. It is impossible to fully control the contrasting density of GOHONDE, so that GOHONDE is a little different in each work. The colorful rings of GOHONDE add balance and warmth to the atmosphere, and emphasize the beauty of this refined white Matcha bowl.

This Matcha bowl expresses Japanese auspicious motifs very well. The taste of Matcha surrounded by the fresh colors will be the ultimate refinement. Please enjoy your green moment with this elegant and sophisticated Matcha bowl.
