Dimension: 600ml (21.12fl oz)
Sophisticated Tokoname Yaki
This Kyusu is medium size, 600ml (21.12fl oz), perfect for 2 to 5 people. This white clay Kyusu is sophisticated and modern, and is specifically designed to be convenient and easy to use.
KITTATE of this name means tube-shaped form in Japanese. In accordance with its name, this Kyusu has a unique cylindrical shape. The mouth of this Kyusu is wide open, in comparison with other Kyusu, so you can very easily dispose of used tea leaves.
The spout of the teapot, which looks similar to a pelican’s beak pouch, is large. Therefore, it is easy to pour tea and also looks quite stylish.
Unique white clay is used for this Kyusu. It is rare even in the Japanese tea ware industry and evokes a sophisticated and modern impression.
This Kyusu has a ceramic fine mesh filter, not removable mesh filter basket. Many porcelain Kyusu have a small mesh filter basket, so unfortunately the tea leaves can't fully open and therefore the flavor of the brewed tea will be weak. In many cases, ceramic mesh is not fine but rough like Dobin, which is not suitable for brewing Sencha Fukamushi and Konacha. However, ceramic mesh of this Kyusu is fine, so that you can brew all kinds of Japanese tea, including Sencha Fukamushi and Konacha. (In the unlikely event that you would like to filter out the small specks of Sencha Fukamushi or Konacha, we recommend you use a tea strainer.)
Lead-free. Made in Japan.
