This Yunomi has two contradictory expressions. The dynamic design by paint brush and refined and delicate stamps are well matched on this tea cup. The three color contrast created by glaze, enhances not only each color, but also the design on this tea cup. The more we look carefully, the more we will notice the beauty of contrast.

TETSUE means a painting by TETSU iron glaze, and MISHIMA means stamps. Three different lines are decorated in dark brown color of iron glaze, and three different stamps are decorated in a consecutive manner. Energetic stripe lines, feathery and lively arabesque patterns and vivid and thick checkered patterns are dynamically decorated on this cup. In contrast, three different patterns are stamped and the surface is coated in green glaze between the iron glaze paintings. The patterns are marked by stamp stick carved with flowers and other similar designs before the clay is dried, and each of them is delicately stamped by hand. The contrast between powerful and refined design is well mixed and enhances the uniqueness of each.

Not only the design contrast but also the color contrast is one of the focal points. ORIBE glaze, which is vivid green color is painted on the rim of Yunomi and MISHIMA stamps. The green glaze is well reflected on each stamp, and enhances the gracefulness of the MISHIMA stamps. On the other hand, white glaze is painted under the three iron glaze designs. The white glaze not only adds accent to the dark brown color of the iron glaze but also enhances the dynamics of each design. The patterns of strong green dots which are created by ORIBE glaze give accent to them.

In the inside of the tea cup, linear marks made by brush are dynamically implemented. This traditional technique, called HAKEME, evokes the powerful image on this tea cup.

The design and color contrast are well harmonized on this Yunomi tea cup. When viewing this cup from various angles, we can see different unique designs, expressions and feelings. We are certain that this Yunomi will enhance the taste of your preferred green tea.
