Each year the sencha crop will taste a little different. I understand from Hibiki-An's updates that the particular weather for a growing and harvesting season can make a noticeable difference in flavor. This year's crop is just outstanding. Full of floral notes, natural...(more)

I'm so glad Hibiki-An offers this unique tea. It really doesn't taste quite like anything else. It has a complex taste that has elements of gyokuro, sencha, and matcha flavors. And every time you brew it, it will taste different. I brew this the same way as gyokuro a...(more)

Sencha Fukamushi is one of my favorite teas. These steamed teas are harder to find for sale in the U.S. and anyway it is better to order straight from the source! It brews a thick cloudy cup, that is just loaded with umami flavor as well as the freshness of sencha. F...(more)

I’m so impressed with these cups. The thinness of the porcelain really does make.a difference to the drinking experience. The color of the tea is enhanced by the whiteness inside, and the color of the outer design reminds me of indigo watercolor or ink—a real favorite o...(more)

This is a wonderful Kyusu! It is so easy to use, you could brew anything in it with ease. I have a lot of different styles of teapots but this is my favorite. Elegant in design and function. If you love Japanese tea, get yourself a Kyusu, you won’t be sorry. Had I k...(more)

These little clips are great if you want to keep your tea in the original bags. I think they keep them sealed quite nicely and you can tell your tea apart at a glance. I love them so much I only wish I had remembered to buy more!

The Shincha Fukamushi is a wonderful companion to the traditional Shincha! Comparing the two, the Fukamushi has less complexity but a fuller, "rounder" mouth feel. Where there are faint notes of floral in the standard Shincha, the Fukamushi has more straigh...(more)

I’ve been drinking tea for so long now that it takes a lot to surprise me. This tea did! The tea just “glows” in the cup as well as your mouth. It has the most complex flavor of any tea I’ve had. Even Tawainese high mountain oblongs don’t compare. It is like a minia...(more)
