Review | Just recieved this May's Shincha of Sencha Fukamushi and I am very impressed. This tea definately has both Gyokuro and Sencha characteristics which differ with each infusion. The first infusion has a beautiful color and aroma with a classic gyokuro taste, plus a little extra depth from the sencha. The first infusion has mainly a wonderful sencha taste while having nearly the same amount of body as the first. The third infusion is slightly weak; so if you want to leave with a sweet taste in your mouth, stick to only two infusions. I recommend following the standard rule for brewing heavily steamed green teas: brew for 40 sec. with water at about 185F degrees. I brew this in my new Peony Kyusu which I bought from Hibiki-an and it is quite exceptional. A great tea for a great price. |
