Kyusu having a side handle was developed in Japan and has been used and made only in Japan. The surface is decorated by woodturning and a paddle, which is one of the unique features of Tokoname-Yaki Kyusu. It has a fine mesh filter at the base of the spout of the Kyusu, so even tiny tea leaves (ex: Fukamushi Sencha) will not come out from the Kyusu.¡¡If the mesh filter is too fine, the aroma and taste can't be extracted enough and the filter can easily become blocked.
