| Review | I have been purchasing tea from Hibiki-An for years, and my favorite during all that time has been the Kuradashi Gyokuro. The Pinnacle grade leaves are a lovely, deep, deep green, and the aroma matches the darkness and richness of that color. The first infusion is chock-a-block full of scent and taste. It is definitely not a cup you drink in haste because you need a shot of caffeine; because it it such a sensory powerhouse, it actually captures all of your attention, and for a little while, the world is just you and a fantastic cup of tea. The second infusion does not have the same oomph; it is softer, a little bit sweeter, but that Kuradashi Gyokuro aroma is still very much present. The third infusion is light, sweet, green. I really enjoy comparing the cups produced by these Pinnacle grade leaves to those produced by the organic Gyokuro; the differences between them help you better appreciate each. |
