[New] Sencha Superior - Astringent (200g/7.05oz) Reviews

Nickname Robert D.   (United States)
Review I have been drinking the Sencha Fukamushi, and enjoying it's flavor: somewhat like grass, an aroma of seaweed, and lively color of pale green.
The Sencha superior- astringent is altogether different!
To begin with, it has a pale golden color more like straw, almost not green. Small golden fragments of tea leaves drift at the bottom of the cup. When you lift the cup to your mouth, the aroma is fragrant and much like jasmine, but much more subtle than typical jasmine tea. The aroma carries through to the tastebuds, with a floral sweetness instead of a sugary one. This flavor is carried along with a silky texture which feels really good in your mouth! Soon you feel the astringency, softly at first then growing stronger. This astringency is not bitter. It is like the astringent quality of a dry wine: that edgy quality which one feels across the tongue and the upper palate,a replacement for sweetness.
Taken together, the many qualities of this tea make it a wonderful, very fulfilling experience, and one which leaves me with a sense of calm.
Thank you, Hibiki-an, for producing this wonderful tea!
