This pot is the first yokode kyusu I've owned, and it's delightful. The handle is well sized for my hands. The seal appears to be air tight; if you put your finger on the hole in the lid, it will stop pouring completely. Primarily, I got this kyusu for the sasame filter. My previous pot lacked a filter, and the lid was too small to fit a tea basket in it, making it a struggle to find a way to keep leaves out of my cup. The sasame in this does its job wonderfully; I haven't had it clog at all, though I haven't tried fukamushi sencha yet to really test it. It's also easy to rinse out when there is the odd bit of leaf stuck in there. From an aesthetic perspective, I've been eyeing the Ryokudei Mogake style ever since I first learned about the variety of kyusu that exist. The nature of how mogake is created means no two pots can ever really have the exact same pattern, and reviews of a similar pot from Gyokko forewarned me of the possibility the pattern might really only show up on the lid. Sure enough, that's what happened with mine, but I think it's to the pot's benefit. The lighter amount of mogake means that it serves mostly as an accent on the body of the Kyusu, creating areas of interest that further unify the pot and lid when properly lined up, without overpowering the green of the Ryokudei. Likewise, the green is a softer, lighter tone compared to the product images, but that is, again, closer to the shades of green I enjoy most. As I say in my title, I've only had the pot for a week at the time of writing, but already I can hardly imagine my daily routine without it. It's made brewing tea come together in a way my previous pot couldn't. The only functional downside I have is that I don't have many family members or friends who like green tea, so it's difficult to make full use of the 300 ml capacity unless I drink larger cups of tea.
