Your eyes will immediately be drawn to the attractive crystal glaze of this Matcha bowl. The blue color is brilliant and noble. The form is a little rounded and the smooth curve creates a soft and gentle atmosphere. Natural clay color appears at the base. The contrast of the light reddish brown color of the natural clay and brilliant blue color of the crystal glaze is quite exquisite.

AO means blue in Japanese and FUJI is wisteria. FUJI also signifies the pale bluish purple of the wisteria flower. The color has been quite popular for Japanese women’s clothes from the Heian era to the modern period.

This brilliant blue color crystal glaze is very beautiful. It is difficult to make the glaze colored like this brilliant blue and to create a precise crystal pattern. It requires delicate temperature management in the kiln and sensitive composition of glaze. The crystal pattern is different in each work. The color of the rim is dark and it adds an exquisite accent to this Matcha bowl.

We are so pleased that we can provide this noble Matcha bowl at a reasonable price. Each bowl has different expressions, and we at Hibiki-an sincerely hope that you will one day find your most cherished Matcha bowl, that will truly enrich your green tea moment.
