The YOHKAN we invite you to discover is an extraordinary creation, blending Japan’s time-honored tradition with the sophistication of chocolate. Silky KOSHIAN (smooth red bean paste) is gently blended with melted chocolate and set with agar, creating a confection that is both refined and indulgent. The texture is luxuriously smooth, reminiscent of a French terrine, while the fragrance of chocolate rises softly, unfolding into layers of richness that linger on the palate. This one-of-a-kind delicacy was created by “MUNIANKASSHOKU,” a chocolatier in Kyoto’s historic KITASHIRAKAWA district, in collaboration with master artisans from a long-established WAGASHI house. The name MUNIAN comes from the Sanskrit “MUNI,” a Buddhist term meaning “one who practices silence.” It embodies a spirit of serene focus, and an invitation to savor chocolate with a clear and tranquil mind. “KASSHOKU,” meaning “dark brown,” honors the profound depth of cacao, symbolizing the essence of the brand itself.
