SAKURA RYUSUI means flowing river water and cherry blossoms. The cherry blossom petals, carefully painted in white, pink, and yellow, and the delicate golden brushstrokes are very elegant and lovely. A stream flowing gracefully under the cherry blossoms creates a cool atmosphere, and the cheerfulness of spring is captured in this Matcha bowl. The elegant but not too ostentatious golden brushstrokes require a very high level of skill. These elements are well harmonized and make this bowl quite excellent.

The cherry blossom petals are carefully colored in white, pink, and yellow, and the beauty of the cherry blossoms shining in various ways in the spring sunlight is expressed in three dimensions. Each petal is not only a different color, but they are all painted with different textures, creating a sense of depth. The branches supporting these petals are delicately and precisely painted in gold and seem to evoke a gentle spring breeze. The casually but impressively painted stream adds coolness to the floral petals and reminds us of the mild spring weather in Japan.

The delicate golden brushwork is particularly brilliant, and the artisan's high level of skill is evident. Careful observation reveals that not only the petal edges, but even the veins are very carefully lined with gold. In addition, different types of gold paint were used on the yellow petals, and gradations can be seen in the gold. While capturing the blooming cherry blossoms in a lovely way, the use of detailed techniques results in a very elegant Matcha bowl.

The technique called GOHONDE, colorful lines of orange, is seen on the inside and outside of this bowl. It is impossible to fully control the contrasting density of GOHONDE, so that GOHONDE is a little different in each work. The colorful rings of GOHONDE add balance and warmth to the atmosphere, and emphasize the beauty of this refined white Matcha bowl.

This Matcha bowl expresses Japanese scenery in spring very well. The taste of Matcha surrounded by the fresh colors of spring will be the ultimate refinement. Please enjoy your green moment with the elegance of spring in Japan.
