Traditional Kyo Yaki (Kyoto Style)
Made by Kahoh Itoh at Kahoh Kiln
These Yunomi are characterized by the harmony between the light pink of the SAKURA cherry blossoms, the light purple of the FUJI Japanese wisteria, and the refined white background. The atmosphere is very light and airy, like the soft breeze that blows in spring. Both of them are simple yet modern impressions, and their simplicity warms our heart.
These Yunomi are modest with a refined white color, created by the traditional technique called KOBIKI. They are coated with glaze made from white clay and referred to as SIROGESYOU, which means to be beautiful by makeup, because of its graceful atmosphere.
(SAKURA)
SAKURA means cherry blossoms, which are one of the most beloved flowers in Japan.
The cherry blossoms are elegantly, vividly, and intrepidly depicted in this work. The cherry blossom is not only a symbol of spring, but also the national flower of Japan.
(FUJI)
FUJI means Japanese wisteria, which is loved in Japan for its purple color, also called FUJI. BYODOIN Temple, which is on the world heritage list and located in Uji, Kyoto, is also famous for FUJI Japanese wisteria planted spectacularly and elegantly in the garden.
The SAKURA and FUJI decorated on the white glaze evokes the fresh image of spring grasses and flowers, and their simple design matches with any type of Japanese green tea. You can enjoy your perfect green tea moment with these charming Yunomi.
