AKI of this name means autumn and KAZE means breeze in Japanese. Paintings on this Yunomi teacup are autumn wild flowers, loved by Japanese for generations. Considering the price and quality, this Yunomi cup is an outstanding value.
This Yunomi features the quintessential Japanese autumn scenery and symbols of the season. Chrysanthemum, golden lace, silver grass and so on, which are autumn flowers in Japan, are carefully and vividly painted on the side and inside. It is traditional for many varieties of wild autumn flowers to be portrayed together. The harmony and contrast of natural white clay and the lovely decoration are very unique.
This pattern of Yunomi teacup is composed with autumn flowers, but usually used throughout the year. The whole atmosphere is gentle and courteous, a beautiful effect characteristic of expert artistry.
Some autumn flowers are edged, placing a fine border of clay around each petal. This technique is called ICCHIN MORI in Japanese. This technique gives a three-dimensional appearance to the Yunomi, and makes us feel as though we can touch the real autumn flowers.
Colorful patches of orange are called GOHONDE, a traditional technique that adds warmth to the atmosphere of the work. It is impossible to fully control the contrasting density of GOHONDE, so that GOHONDE is a little different in each work.
Autumn typical flowers in Japan are beautifully expressed on this teacup. The calm and warm atmosphere in the autumn season will certainly enrich your Japanese green tea.
