This is limited edition only available in spring and summer season.

Handcrafted teacup: pair 110ml (3.87fl oz) each, diameter: 3.54inches (9.0cm) height: 2.16inches (5.5cm)
Traditional Kyo Yaki (Kyoto Style)
Made by Kahoh Itoh at Kahoh Kiln

These Yunomi teacups are characterized by the harmony between the vigor of the growing clover, blue TESSEN clematis flowers blooming in the cool atmosphere and the delicacy of the refined white background. The atmosphere is very light and airy, like the soft breeze that blows in spring. Both of them are simple yet modern impressions, and its simplicity warms our heart.

This Yunomi is modest with a refined white color, created by the traditional technique called KOBIKI. The teacup is coated with glaze made from white clay and referred to as SIROGESYOU, which means to be beautiful by makeup, because of its graceful and beautiful atmosphere.

The clover delicately drawn inside and outside the teacup on the modest white surface is very refreshing and creates a soft and warm impression. One four-leaf clover, discovered among many, will bring good fortune. Since every clover is meticulously painted by skilled hand, you will feel the craftsman’s sincere wish for your good luck.

TESSEN clematis is also painted inside and outside the teacup with an elegant touch. Each petal is colored in blue with the use of gradation, and each petal is elegantly painted with graceful curved lines. Leaves colored in green add a lovely accent. The stems are not painted but scraped after painting the green color, so that very tiny white glaze color used on the veins is well contrasted to the green leaves. The white glaze coated wholly over the teacup adds to the fresh and cooling atmosphere of the clematis.

The clover and clematis decorated on the white glaze evokes the fresh image of spring grasses and flowers, and its simple design matches with any type of Japanese green tea. You can enjoy your perfect green tea moment with this Yunomi.

Kahoh Itoh

Kahoh Itoh was born in 1963 in Kyoto. He had worked under the first Kahoh and then succeeded the Kahoh Kiln as the second Kahoh in 1984.
He creates a wide range of pottery and semi-porcelain tableware. He is skilled at vivid color glazes like KAKI YU vermilion color glaze and delicate paintings. He pursues the ideal of delicate and vivid Kyo-Yaki. Vivid color glazes are typically difficult to produce. Thus his techniques are highly appreciated.
