KOBIKI of this name means glazing white color on the pottery. TAKARA means treasure and MON means crest in Japanese. This Yunomi teacup is coated with glaze made from white clay, and Japanese traditional treasures are decorated on the outside of the teacup.

KOBIKI is one of the Japanese traditional pottery techniques, coating with glaze made from white clay. The unevenness of the white color KOBIKI glaze coating creates the WABI SABI atmosphere. The brownish gray color base glaze and the brown color of the clay appear through the uneven KOBIKI glaze.

One of the focal points on this Yunomi is its unique shape. The lower body is scraped, and it adds to the soft and tender atmosphere of the teacup. The curve from the rim to base is not only beautiful, but also lovely to hold in your hands. The curve at the mouth not only brings gentle accent to the form but also fulfills a role to enhance the tea flavor when your mouth touches the Yunomi.

Colorful patches of orange are called GOHONDE, a traditional technique that adds warmth to the atmosphere of the work. It is impossible to fully control the contrasting density of GOHONDE, so that GOHONDE is a little different in each work.

This Yunomi is lyrically and exquisitely decorated with auspicious motifs. Each auspicious motif expresses the following: hand scroll: knowledge and wisdom; pouch: health and wealth; SEIKAIHA, small blue ocean wave: prosperity.

Golden color inlayed outside the teacup adds to the graceful atmosphere. Golden color is also used on the contour of the pouch and hand scroll, enhancing the gorgeousness. A little golden color is used on this teacup; this decoration not only creates the noble atmosphere but also stimulates our imagination.

The simple texture of the KOBOKI white glaze, together with the unique and colorful design on each cup, enhances the graceful atmosphere. The bright color of Japanese green tea will also enhance the design of this teacup much more so, once the tea is poured.
