HINERI MOCHI means "twisted rice cake" in Japanese and it is one of the traditional Japanese sweets. KUROMAME black beans, which have a rich nutty flavor, and refined AN bean jam are wrapped in soft MOCHI rice cake. KUROMAME black beans and AN bean jam pair wonderfully with the MOCHI rice cake and they are a superb combination. Our KUROMAME HINERI MOCHI is not too sweet, but subtly sweet. The sticky and moist texture will captivate you!

HINERI MOCHI has been popular through the ages in Japan. In the manufacturing process of Japanese SAKE rice wine, the brewer checks the condition of the rice during steaming by twisting the rice. It is said that HINERI MOCHI was discovered during this process. Therefore, this twisted MOCHI is closely linked with Japanese SAKE rice wine culture.

KUROMAME black beans are also a traditional Japanese food. KUROMAME is not only tasty but also healthy and nourishing, therefore it has been used in many dishes or sweets since ancient times. KUROMAME is also regarded as auspicious. It has become an indispensable part of food culture in Japan.
