This Matcha bowl is a flat and open style. The flat style was originally developed in order to choreograph coolness in the summer season in the Middle Ages before the advent of air conditioning. This flat style of Matcha bowl can be used not only for Matcha but is also ideal for serving traditional Japanese snacks and other foods as well. It will expand in application depending on your idea. Of course, it can be used not only in the summer season but throughout the year.

KOBIKI of this name means glazing white color on the pottery, KIYOTAKI means clean and pure waterfall in Japanese. KOBIKI is one of the Japanese traditional pottery techniques, coating with glaze made from white clay. KOBIKI white color is also called SIROGESHOH, which means to be beautiful by makeup, because of its graceful and beautiful atmosphere. The white color KOBIKI glaze coating produces a cool and refreshing impression.

KIYOTAKI waterfall is boldly painted and the splash and border of the waterfall is also sterically drawn on the surface. This technique gives a three-dimensional appearance and movement to the bowl. Bright green colored maple, which is one of the Japanese summer features, also evokes a light feeling, both fresh and airy.

The flat and open style like this bowl was developed to produce coolness in the summer season some hundreds of years ago. Upon first use, you will surprisingly feel the coolness and exhilaration.

The patches of orange, created by the traditional glazing technique known as GOHONDE, is just like the sun. Found on the surface of the inside or outside, GOHONDE adds warmth to the atmosphere of the work. It is impossible to fully control the contrasting density of GOHONDE, so GOHONDE is quite different in each work.

We are certain that you will enjoy not only drinking Matcha but also serving Japanese snacks with this bowl. It will expand in application depending on your idea. Of course, it can be used not only in the summer season but throughout the year!
