This Matcha bowl is very superb and graceful, and the various colors of AJISAI, which means hydrangea, add to the gentle and splendid atmosphere. The soft and subtle white texture accentuates not only the beauty of the bowl but also the AJISAI hydrangea. The more we look at this bowl, the more we are drawn in by its beauty.

GAKU means picture frame and AJISAI means hydrangea in Japanese. As its name suggests, white, pale sky blue and gold colored small flowers are surrounded by brilliant large flowers, which looks like a picture frame. The hydrangea is also familiar to the people of Japan as a typical flower of the early summer. Upon viewing this Matcha bowl, you can feel Japanese refreshing summer while drinking our Matcha.

Delicate and multicolored AJISAI hydrangea are boldly decorated on the surface of the bowl. Especially, painting small AJISAI flowers like dots takes time and effort. The light green leaves largely drawn accentuate the splendor and gorgeousness of the hydrangea and this Matcha bowl itself. AJISAI hydrangea, the contour lines and veins which are colored in gold, adds to the elegance of this Matcha bowl. This GAKU AJISAI bowl is very well designed and harmonious.

The technique called GOHONDE, colorful lines of orange, is seen on the inside and outside of this bowl. It is impossible to fully control the contrasting density of GOHONDE, so that GOHONDE is a little different in each work. The contrast between the brilliant AJISAI hydrangea and the subtle white background of this bowl emphasizes the beauty of this bowl and its graceful and gorgeous atmosphere.

The elaborately painted AJISAI hydrangea are in full bloom. The Matcha bowl, which uses AJISAI hydrangea as a motif, is quite rare even in Japan.

The base of this Matcha bowl is carefully and elaborately scraped away, which is proof of the highest grade Matcha bowl.

You can feel approachability in this bowl since it is drawn with a gentle impression. We are certain that you will spend a relaxing and carefree time drinking Matcha with this bowl.
