Handcrafted teacup: 200ml (7.04fl oz) each, diameter: 2.95inches (7.5cm) height: 3.54inches (9.0cm)
Sophisticated Kyo Yaki (Kyoto Style)
Made by Kahoh Itoh at Kahoh Kiln

This Yunomi is characterized by the harmony between the vigor of the growing clover and the delicacy of the refined white background. The atmosphere is very light and airy, like the soft breeze that blows through the clover. Clover Yunomi gives a simple yet modern impression, and its simplicity warms our heart.

This Yunomi is modest with a refined white color, created by the traditional technique called KOBIKI. The teacup is coated with glaze made from white clay and referred to as SIROGESYOU, which means to be beautiful by makeup, because of its graceful and beautiful atmosphere.

A painting technique called MAKUKAKE, which means covering something with a curtain, is used for this Yunomi. You can see the unique pattern like a stage curtain on the bottom of this teacup and that seems almost like a thick curtain rises on stage and the story begins.

The clover delicately drawn on the modest white surface is very refreshing and creates a soft and warm impression. One four-leaf clover, discovered among many, will bring good fortune. Since every clover is meticulously painted by skilled hand, you will feel the craftsman’s sincere wish for your good luck.

This Yunomi is simple and easy to use, so it has been familiar to many people through the ages. You can enjoy your perfect green tea moment with this Yunomi.

Kahoh Itoh

Kahoh Itoh was born in 1963 in Kyoto. He had worked under the first Kahoh and then succeeded the Kahoh Kiln as the second Kahoh in 1984.
He creates a wide range of pottery and semi-porcelain tableware. He is skilled at vivid color glazes like KAKI YU vermilion color glaze and delicate paintings. He pursues the ideal of delicate and vivid Kyo-Yaki. Vivid color glazes are typically difficult to produce. Thus his techniques are highly appreciated.
