This Yunomi has the unique avant-garde aura of the young artisan together with traditions succeeded from Dainichi Kiln.

GEPPAKUYU of this name means White Moon Glaze in Japanese. It expresses the certain glaze, which is white turbid blue color glaze. GEPPAKUYU, white moon glaze is named because the white turbid blue color looks like moonlight. The blue color is created by reduction firing of iron constituents in the glaze. The red color on the downside of the glaze is created by reduction firing of copper constituent. It may remind you of the early morning sun appearing from the silent darkness.

The teacup rim is moderately flared and the middle of side is full. The bottom is slimly tucked and the base is shaped small. The whole form brings a delicate and subtle atmosphere. Unevenness of the natural fired clay at the base and five white spots at the base add accent to this Yunomi.

Though the artisan, Yohtaroh Takemura just started to work under his father in 2010, he has already won several awards. So, this Yunomi is not only well-designed but also vigorous. It is the work of an emerging young talent, full of potential. To consider the value of this work, the price is quite reasonable. We expect that this young artisan will have great success in the future, and the value of his early work will increase further.
