HANNYA SHINKYOH Kyusu (Teapot: 370ml) US$56.00

HANNYA Kyusu(Teapot)

The Kyusu we have selected for you is the most popular size, 370ml (13.02fl oz), perfect for 1 - 3 people. This Kyusu has a very classic and simple design.

The Japanese characters carved on the side of this Kyusu are "Hannya Shinkyoh" which is one of the most famous Buddhist scriptures. Though "Hannya Shinkyoh" is composed of only three hundred characters, it captures the quintessence of Buddhism. In the "Hannya Shinkyoh" it is written that 'all creation, nature, and all things in this world are ephemeral' and 'search for truth eternally' and so on.

This Kyusu has a fine mesh filter at the base of the spout, so even tiny tea leaves (ex: Fukamushi Sencha) will not come out from the Kyusu. If the mesh filter is too fine, the aroma and taste can't be extracted enough and the filter can easily become blocked. Our Kyusu's mesh filter is the perfect size for all kinds of tea leaves. In addition, the tip of the spout is covered with a removable clear plastic guard, which prevents tea drips when you pour.

Lead-free. Made in Japan.

Free shipping on all tea ware items!

(Directions)
- If the filter gets blocked, you can place this Kyusu in water with a little chlorine detergent for a few hours. The filter will then become clear.
- When turning the Kyusu to pour tea, you must hold the lid in place with your finger, otherwise the lid could fall off the pot and possibly get damaged. This is the usual way to pour tea with a Kyusu.
