Mr. Toan Dobuchi was born in 1949. His art is full of creative energy, as he is naturally inquisitive and enjoys exploring new techniques and designs every day. He studied about glaze in Germany, so his work stands out from other Japanese ceramic designs. Mr. Dobuchi has his own world of glaze, color and design. In his artwork, he likes to incorporate images of flowering grasses that are found in nature. These days, he also creates beautiful lamps, tables and other interior decor.
The features of this Kyusu are sophisticated design and vivid painting as well as deep thoughtfulness regarding function.
Cherry blossoms, which are drawn on this Kyusu, are the national flower of Japan and symbolize ephemeral beauty. They are vividly and fascinatingly painted. Throughout history, it has always been extremely difficult to create a vivid vermilion color as you see on this item. It is one of his original techniques which he is well-known for incorporating into his art.
