SOMETSUKE refers to traditional Japanese ceramics that have been painted with a blue pattern mainly made of cobalt oxide over a white base glaze and then coated with transparent glaze and baked at a high temperature. It's simple yet sophisticated and easy to use all year round.
SOHKA of this name means flowers in Japanese. As its name suggests, famous Japanese flowers are boldly drawn on the surface.
TSUBAKI means camellia flowers. Camellia flowers are one of the most traditional, cherished flowers of Japan, especially prized in tea ceremony. The flowers are painted elegantly, vividly, and intrepidly. Camellia is an evergreen and blooms even in a shady area or in the winter season, and the flower is so beautiful. It is the reason why the camellia has been well-loved in Japan for so many years.
NANTEN means heavenly bamboo in Japanese, which has been favored at tea ceremonies for its vivid red color. The name NANTEN has the meaning of turning misfortune into good fortune, and has been favored in Japan since ancient times as a very auspicious plant. The flowers and plants are vividly painted by zaffer glaze in Tohan's specific painting style, which always fascinates viewers.
The overall rounded form is indescribably charming and gives the viewer a sense of comfort. The rounded shape also fits your hand wonderfully well and makes you feel comfortable from the sense of touch.
This Yunomi has a graceful aura, that will change even your daily tea time to an extraordinary experience.
