I can think of absolutely no better way to enjoy this time of harvest. Only thing better would be if the cherries were not delayed in blooming. I have been drinking my Farmer's Sencha for the past couple of weeks. It is remarkably clean, fresh, and subtle. The c... (more)

Was looking forward to try it (parcel arrived only one week after shipping). I tasted it a few hours ago. No deception! freshness, nice aroma, mellow taste and all that at a very reasonable price. Thanks Hibiki-an!

Yes, this tea deserves another review for 2011! When we think of best we generally associate highly refined but in Japan I think it is just a category. Unrefined could be regarded as best and the proof is in the brew. I let my tea cool in the bowl and I was amazed at no... (more)

Today in the USA is National Walk in the Woods Day! Forest owners mostly farmers open their lands to hikers of all ages in hopes that others will enjoy the great outdoors and all that forests have to offer. Hibiki-an does the same and less is more! The 2011 Farmer'... (more)

Tea tasting the new Shinsha's from Hibiki-an did not stop at Shincha matcha. A bit later my friends and I prepared ourselves for the Farmers Shincha. I like to think of this tea as the house tea. Nothing wrong with this tea and proud to be served and consumed. Very... (more)

(Farmers Shincha) Delicate, selected tea leaves appear to be astonishingly immune to higher temperature and longer steeping. Quick flushes appropriate for Gyokuro preserve the beautiful color and lightness but fail to unveil the complexity of taste and aroma, which I... (more)

I am a 60 year old man who has only been drinking quality tea on a regular basis for the last few years. I decided that I preferred Chinese teas overall....until I tasted the 2009 Farmers' Shincha. This is one of the finest teas that I have ever tasted. I know that... (more)

The aroma of this tea is very surprising! It is similar to sundried tomatoes and fresh grass! Strange mix, but the taste is very good and I feel I could even improve my brewing technique to make it better. Try it I am sure you will like it!

This is by far my favorite shincha that I have tried this year (I have had several from different vendors). The leaves are long and a beautiful dark green with some breakage. The tea is very forgiving to brew, does not become bitter easily, and holds up to high temper... (more)

Highly recommend you try this tea. Iit won't be here long and if you're hesitant about getting it because of the low price I wouldn't let this discourage you. It's a very sweet and delicious tea. I would follow the tablespoon or tablespoon and a ... (more)
