This tea brews a darker cup, but is soothing and mellow. There's a kind of smokiness that isn't overwhelming, but feels comforting. Would recommend for an afternoon break.

Delicious houjicha, easily my favorite houjicha that I've had. The flavor feels lighter than others I've tasted, and the roasted flavor note comes through very clearly and in balance with the earthy flavor of the tea. Love it!

Great price for great taste for the daily tea drinker. Dry leaves have an initial aroma of slightly roasted nutty/dark chocolate! the roasted aroma is lighter when brewed and accents all the notes pleasantly. Will buy again!

I drink a lot of houjicha: iced in the spring and summer and hot during the rest of the year. The bancha from Hibiki-an is the best I have found. Over the years I have occasionally tried other brands but the quality of this tea at this price is always outstanding.

This tea is comparable to other types of teas from stems like Chinese teas I've tried in the past. Its not comparable to the leaf teas I tried such as the blended sencha/gyokuro and matcha from Hibiki-an. Its a good tea and has a different taste. I'll have to ... (more)
