In Japan, Japanese green tea is often presented as a gift to celebrate
for following reasons. We give the gift of green tea for a good health
and a long life of friends, family, or professional colleagues. It is perfect for any special or
romantic occasion such as holidays, birthdays, Valentine's Day, weddings,
or the purchase of a new home.
- Japanese green tea has been highly valued and treasured as a precious medicine for health and longevity since green tea was introduced to Japan in A.D. 805 by Buddhist monks.
- Beginning in A.D. 1738, Sohen Nagatani invented the Japanese green tea processing methods which are still used today to pick and prepare the leaves. Green tea has always been the most popular beverage in Japan, believed to contribute to health and well being. Today, we understand some of the reasons why green tea is so healthy. It is full of nutrients such as Catechin, Teanin, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin A and many others.
- Tea trees are not deciduous; they do not loose their leaves. Even after continual harvesting, the tea trees sprout patiently and energetically, especially in spring. Tea trees are very strong and resilient and live for many years. That analogy transfers directly into the tea leaf and then into your tea cup providing you and your loved ones health and long life.

Japanese tea combined with OHIGASHI or OKAKI makes a wonderful gift.
OHIGASHI is one of the most traditional Japanese confectionary which is often served at Japanese tea ceremony and pairs very well with Japanese green tea. OHIGASHI is made from premium fine-grain Japanese sugar called WASANBON and shaped into flowers or other auspicious symbols of the four seasons of Japan.
(Note: This item is available from August to May. It is not available June and July due to moisture in rainy season in Japan.)
OKAKI rice cracker is one of the most popular and classic snacks in Japan. It is essentially toasted cut and dried MOCHI rice cake. This OKAKI is traditionally-made by hand using only natural ingredients sourced only in Japan.

Perfect Tea Set
In my opinion, this is the most beautiful tea set that Hibiki-an carries. The teapot is so lovely that I have purchased two so far - one for myself and one as a gift. It is the ideal weight, shape, etc. and brews a great cup of tea. Also it is handmade by an artist in Japan - not just machine-made in some factory. The cups are lovely as well - so glossy and a rich color of vermilion. I'm sure anyone would love to receive this as a gift. I've given lots of people gifts from Hibiki-an and in general they think it is fun receiving a package from Japan. I've received compliments about the gifts from family and friends on the lovely origami style wrapping paper packaging and the Mizuhiki ornament and even the postage stamps! The folks at Hibiki-an really take the time to make sure everything looks perfect - you can tell they care about their product and the presentation which is really rare these days and is much appreciated.

Japanese Green Tea Set
This green tea set is so cute and it makes a wonderful present! It's perfect because it includes everything you could possibly need to make a great cup of tea -- or have a little tea party! Also, it's a good value and excellent quality for the price. The price including free shipping is really quite reasonable for a full tea set with gift wrapping, etc.

Soheki Matcha Gift Set
Received this today. An excellent product, with top quality goods. The matcha is among the best I have ever tried, not to bitter at all and with a nice, rich flavour, it also doesn't clump or fall and sit at the bottom of the bowl- even when not whisked. The bowl is also lovely, being my first proper matcha bowl I was pleasantly surprised at its size and depth- at least double that of other bowl's I have. For its size it is not heavy at all, with a lightweight and nice feel on the hands. Topped of with a nice stylishly wrapped box (i've kept the paper to use on presents!). Recommended.

Matcha Gift Set
The tea bowl is a good size and has an earthy clay feel. The bamboo whisk, whisk keeper and spoon sit together nicely on my shelf. Matcha Superior has a delightful flavour. This gift set is a wonderful package.
