Review This is my newest Matcha Bowl and aside from the style choreographed for Summertime coolness this design is definitely the most unique. The size is very different from my others which are either the larger, regular sized bowls, or the smaller "multi-cup" sized from the HANA KIKOK Series which illustrate Seasonal Flowers. This Matcha Bowl is just the right size for me, it falls inbetween the larger and smaller sized bowls. I think it is just the perfect size to use in all ways, while preparing your Matcha as well as ease of holding the bowl and drinking from it. It allows you to enjoy a generous amount of delicious Matcha while never feeling "cumbersome." It is very nice to use because it somehow does create a feeling of calmness, as HIBIKI-AN states. I feel the size is part of this, the smaller size allows you to better relax with your bowl of Matcha and not stress over a larger sized bowl that might somehow intimidate in some way.
I thought over purchasing this Limited bowl a few months, but after reading and thinking over the design and materials used very specifically to this Artist I decided to choose this. The coloring is very different, along with the feel/finish of the glaze. As HIBIKI-AN explains this glaze is not overly shiny. My bowl has varied shades of a really beautiful sky blue. After contemplating my bowl I realized why exactly it was so pleasingly calm and what it reminded me of. I realized the unglazed bottom portions reminded me of formations I have seen in the desert. They are the same very warm, rich with maybe a tiny bit of red like a Sun Set color. They also appeared as desert mountains, too. The super beautiful sky blue glaze was like a perfect blue sky color, perfectly clear, but still warm due to the soft matte glaze. (I think it would give a cooler atmosphere and feel if the glaze were more shiny, a bit like ice/cold.) This bowl brings the feel of being in a very calm and serene desert mountain scene with an endless perfectly clear stunningly calm blue sky. Thanks, HIBIKI-AN!
