The characteristics of glaze are well described on both teacups. The pale sky blue color glaze coated on the outside of the RYOH teacup contrasts well with the transparent glaze inside the teacup. The scraping pattern outside the teacup also adds accent not only to the glaze but also to the teacup itself. The purple color glaze of the MURASAKINO teacup creates a graceful atmosphere. Autumn wild flowers and plants are decorated outside the teacup, and each of them is carved by hand.

RYOH of this name means cool in Japanese. As the name indicates, this teacup evokes a feeling of coolness. The pale sky blue color glaze is gracefully coated on the outside of the teacup. Not only the glaze but also Shohoh’s techniques create the graceful aura of this teacup. The teacup is elaborately scraped away, and the scraped lines create varying shades of glazing colors. The contrast between strong and light sky blue color is very graceful. The very smooth and glossy surface of the KOHCHI technique also adds an indescribable noble and graceful atmosphere.

AJISAI hydrangea flower is decorated inside the teacup. Petals and leaves are painted in a single color but in various tones. This flower blooms during the rainy season, so it is associated with the cool and rainy atmosphere. Adding to that, the color combination between the inside and the outside of the teacup adds to the cool atmosphere even more. The strong blue color hydrangea flower beautifully reflects the exterior of the teacup.

MURASAKI means purple, and NO means fields in Japanese. Autumn wild flowers and plants are elaborately decorated in the autumn purple field. Purple color KOHCHI glaze, which is one of the traditional techniques, coats the exterior teacup. Glossy and light purple glaze color does not intensify the glaze itself, but evokes nobility.

Four main autumn flowers and plants, which are SUSUKI pampas grass, OMINAESHI valerianaceae flower, KIKYOH bellflower, and NADESHIKO dianthus, are elegantly decorated outside the teacup, and each is carved by hand. All beautifully bloom around the purple field, and rustle in the autumn breeze. Each flower is elaborately scraped away, and the scraped lines create varying shades of glazing colors. The contrast between strong and light purple colors is very graceful. Very smooth and glossy surface of KOHCHI technique also adds an indescribable noble and graceful atmosphere.

The simple yet elaborate technique of the RYOH teacup creates not only the cool atmosphere but also supreme elegance. Each autumn flower and plant of MURASAKINO is colored in dark purple, and the light purple autumn field adds to the noble atmosphere. These colors are even more beautiful when paired with the color of green tea. It is a delight for the eyes and will certainly enhance your green moment.
