HANA SOROE means flower arrangement in Japanese. There are twelve teacups in this series, which is the most popular advanced line at Tohan Kiln. This Yunomi has a unique shape. We call this Yunomi's shape 'Tama-Yunomi'. 'Tama' means 'ball' in Japanese. You may think this Yunomi is not easy to use to drink tea, but once you try this Yunomi, you'll know it is really quite comfortable, pleasant and lovely to hold in your hands.
AKI KUSA means autumn grasses, and some grasses and flowers blooming in autumn are painted on this cup. Tohan gorgeously expresses the elegant scene of autumn plants. The plants and flowers are painted elegantly, vividly, and intrepidly.
Autumn plants are commonly used in Japanese traditional crafts, such as kimono, furniture, and teaware. Various kinds of autumn plants and flowers are colorfully painted on the white glazed teacup.
YAMA BUDOH means wild grapes in Japanese. Plump shaped grapes are colored with strong or light purple, and flat and large grape leaves turn from green to red. Tohan gorgeously expresses the elegant scene of wild grapes, and they are painted elegantly, vividly, and intrepidly.
The purple color of the wild grapes is beautifully and elegantly reflected on the white glazed teacup. The color of the grape leaves gradually turns from green to red, and that gradation evokes the seasonal change from summer to autumn. The use of golden color also contributes to the elegance of the autumn plants and flowers.
The use of golden color also contributes to the elegance of the autumn plants and flowers. The detailed description of the stamen and the contours of the flower petals make them more brilliant. Both inside and outside white color is also finished with brush lines, which create the WABI SABI atmosphere. A little rough clay modestly adds accent.
This elegant high-grade teacup has a graceful and sophisticated aura.
