These are simple, plain, and refined Yunomi. The thin, lightweight porcelain enhances the good flavor of the tea. TOKUSA of this name is a traditional Japanese pattern, which is in the motif of the plant known as horsetail or Equisetum. Mr. Takeuchi finished TOKUSA pattern modernly adding his original expression uniquely.

These Yunomi are very thin and lightweight porcelain, only 80g (2.82oz) each. It is one of the requirements of excellent Japanese porcelain and helps to create a relaxed green moment. The curve from the mouth to the base is quite stunning and beautiful. As you enjoy your green tea, you can gaze at the aspect of the curve. The curve at the mouth and the thinness also fulfill a role to enhance the tea flavor when your mouth touches the Yunomi.

Toyu Takeuchi

Toyu Takeuchi was born in Kyoto in 1969.He worked under a porcelain master, Shohsen Tsuchiyama, a traditional craftsman certified by the Japanese Authority, for 11 years since 1990. He opened Toyu Kiln in 2001. His Kyo Yaki woodturning technique is highly ranked, and his drawings are regarded as modern and sophisticated. He is one of the mid-career artisans expected to take over Kyo Yaki industry in the near future. He continuously is inspired by interacting with the public at his exhibitions, receiving requests, comments, and feedback about his work.

- It is best to wash this item using only tepid water or mild chlorine-free dish washing detergent.
- If necessary, you may occasionally use a chlorine detergent.
- Do not sterilize by boiling, or in a dish washing machine.
