To meet our many customer demands, we added Sencha Fukamushi Premium as our middle grade of Sencha Fukamushi. Our Sencha Fukamushi Premium is a blend of Saemidori and Yabukita breeds of tea leaves. Saemidori is known as 'Natural Gyokuro' and has a very pleasant sweet and mellow taste, a special feature of this tea. Yabukita is a perfect balance of smooth vs. bitter taste and refreshing aroma, which are the ideal characteristics of Sencha. This tea has a well balanced, gentle and smooth Sencha flavor and sweet taste.
Sencha Fukamushi is usually a deeper color than regular Sencha. This tea is a bright and vivid green. Generally speaking, as you go up the scale of quality, Sencha is brighter and more vivid in color. The best quality teas are the most bright and vivid.
The tea leaves used to make Sencha Fukamushi Premium are harvested when the sprouts are small and soft and not fully-grown; when the tea tree has only three sprouts. So, when you brew this tea, the full potential or energy of the young tea sprouts is extracted into the cup.
You will surely enjoy the unique mellow taste which characterizes Saemidori or 'Natural Gyokuro' along with Yabukita, a perfect balance of flavor.
(Features of Sencha Fukamushi)
Most harvested tea leaves are steamed for thirty seconds. This is the usual traditional Uji/Kyoto style. However one variety, 'Fukamushi' Sencha, is steamed for forty-five to sixty seconds.
'Fukamushi' means 'to steam heavily', and the tea leaves appearance is crumbled or broken apart into smaller pieces. Therefore 'Fukamushi' Sencha is more easily extracted than other teas, so it takes less time to brew a strong and flavorful cup of tea. It produces a light green color, unlike Basic Sencha's light yellow color. Also 'Fukamushi' Sencha has a more mellow taste than Basic Sencha.
'Fukamushi' Sencha is also suitable for Iced Sencha because it's quickly and easily extracted in hot or cold water and always makes a flavorful cup of tea.
And the nutritious constituent of tea leaves are easily extracted into cups.

Sencha Fukamushi is brewed in a shorter time than standard steamed Sencha (finished in the traditional Uji/Kyoto style). For a really tasty cup of tea, brew Sencha Fukamushi for 40 to 45 seconds. If you brew for longer time, unfortunately you feel a little bitter taste
